2022 ... not quite a wrap just yet - Here's to 2023

After an incredibly busy and stable first 3 quarters of 2021, the last quarter was a whirlwind of emotion amidst changing rules and rates.
There was a lot of worry and doubt to begin with and this was compounded by the media shouting about crashes and financial ruin.
What was going to happen? Would this be the end of the mortgage business? Would all landlords sell and move away to outer Mongolia? Would all mortgage advisers need to retrain and find new work?
............Well, no actually, I personally haven't slowed down a bit! In fact, we are looking to hire more advisers!
My BTL side of the business has landlords being a little more cautious and loans better planned out with possibly lower LTV, but Investment mortgages are still being arranged. My residential side however, is booming!
With the possibility of lower house prices next year, first time buyers as well as movers are coming to get their finances in order before they go house hunting. This means we can have a proper plan of action rather than a mad dash and gives time to review all of the aspects, such as protection and monthly costs. I can see that the coming year will be one that needs to be well planned, but not one thats going to be the ruin of people.
I have personally enjoyed this year, its challenges made me sharper and its positive rises kept me glowing.
For 2023, I am actively growing Mortgages For Actors even further, (this being my residential side of the market), and bring this to the forefront of the Performing Arts & Entertainment industry, not just as the best option, but as the only viable one.
Already it has a good following and a large client base who are pleased with the care, consideration and quality of their property applications, but with even more new clients, the opportunity to expand comes too. 2023 may see more advisers, new workspaces, more public appearances and lots of 'getting out there' with this brand.
Of course, I'll still be lending my mortgage expertise to landlords across the UK and via our valued partners at Property Tribes and Property 118 as this is a huge part of our business plan and I honour relationships made here. In fact, I very much enjoy a good portfolio shake-up!
Closing comment? Plan ahead, think about more than just today and protect your future.
